Accessible Wedding Ceremonies that Celebrate You
Everyone should be able to feel good and have a fabulous wedding, right?
I create wedding ceremonies for all couples!
I know that there can be lots of presumptions and bias in the wedding industry. I want you to know that I’m committed to:
Celebrating that love is love! I’m delighted to officiate at weddings of people of any sex or gender in any combination!
Highlighting how ‘white’ the wedding industry is and I am committed to working with, and amplifying the voices of black, brown and mixed-heritage couples and suppliers from diverse backgrounds.
Advocating and challenging to banish ableism in the wedding industry.
When it comes to access in the wedding industry, I know from personal experience, that your ‘average wedding’ often poses challenges or barriers for some. Making them feel ‘less than fabulous’ or even downright excluded. Not on my watch! I am determined to banish ableism from wedding ceremonies!
With 15 years professional experience in inclusive participation and a lifetime of understanding, I will make sure that your ceremony is accessible to you and fully fabulous! I can suggest ways to remove any barriers, offer solutions to keep you feeling confident and empowered and if you need me to advocate for any of your choices, I’m there!
Need it super short so you’re not overwhelmed? Of course!
Want to avoid walking down an aisle? You got it!
Rather not feel like the centre of attention for too long? No problemo!
Want a handfasting but worried about your dexterity or mobility? Sorted!
Need to skip the whole “please stand, now sit, now stand again” shebang? Yes!!
Something else? Coolio, let’s make a fabulous plan so you both feel good!!
So, if either (or both) of you or any of your guests are disabled, have a physical or sensory impairment/disability/long term health condition, are neurodivergent, or struggle with your mental health, I am totally THE celebrant for making your wedding accessible, inclusive, feel-good and fabulous! P-S, I’ve found none of the major web platforms are great for assistive technology. I’m so sorry, I’m investigating this. If the site isn’t working for you, please pop me an email: kathryn.palmer-skillings@humanistceremonies.org.uk

“Kathryn is a fantastic advocate for accessible weddings; she will think of ways around things, make sure you feel empowered & fabulous and always knows the right questions to ask! As someone with a disability, I cannot think of anyone better to design a ceremony that is truly accessible to all.”
